Are you a technical product leader with a passion for user experience who loves working with designers and developers?
The Salesforce product team has an immediate opportunity for a talented, experienced Director of Product Management who wants to work in a growth area, on products with executive focus. You will be working with a group of world-class engineers to design/build/guide breakthrough platform features focusing on developing highly scalable applications using Visual Force technologies. Come be part of the team that is building our most used platform as we work towards our vision of enabling our customers with powerful platform capabilities.
This position will expose you to a significant cross-section of the Salesforce Platform and requires individuals who can reason through large, complex systems. We build things at large scale, and are looking for talented people that are willing to do what it takes to make sure their products are scalable, performant and secure. The end result will be a platform that is better suited for individual, collaborative, and enterprise development for our customers and partners.
Responsibilities:
• Own the product vision for your area. Ensure that it aligns with the overall product and company vision. Be an expert on the domain, the market, the trends. Evangelize the vision constantly so all stakeholders are aligned, have context and understand where we are going.
• Represent the customer. Be the champion and voice of customers. Build impactful, personal relationships with customers, engineering teams, and the field. Bring the customer's voice into the creation process.
• Work with Engineering to manage the release process. Tightly integrate and balance functionality and feasibility. Manage the implementation timeline with a keen understanding of the underlying architecture.
• Take accountability for the realization of the product vision through product delivery, company enablement, and customer/partner adoption.
• Engage customers, prospects, partners and industry resources to determine business requirements, technical considerations and strategic objectives.
• Capture and document market needs and product requirements necessary to succeed in the markets we serve - use cases, personas, cross-functional deliverables.
• Collaborate across teams. We win or lose as a team. Product Managers play a critical role in creating alignment between engineering teams and stakeholders. A collaborative attitude is essential to the job.
Requirements:
• Passion to build outstanding products.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial.
• Creative thinker who thrives on solving challenging problems.
• Technical expertise with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. You should be able to read and ideally write code, though you aren’t an engineer.
• Expertise with relational database languages (SQL or SOQL)
• Experience with data modeling design
• Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP and REST)
• Hold your own in debates with technical architects, engineers, and designers.
• Grasp the big picture, while still delivering on the details.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Experience managing teams using agile/scrum methodologies.
• 5+ years of Product Management experience.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
