Wintrust Marketing is looking for a talented, detail-oriented social media & content strategist to join our team! Applicants must be prepared to develop a comprehensive content strategy to strengthen our social media, web traffic, and general online presence. This person must also ensure we’re consistent with our brand and positioning and that our content supports larger company goals. The position is part of Wintrust Marketing’s internal creative team and will work closely with copywriters, designers, and our videographer to ensure we are getting the most out of every piece of content. The social media & content strategist will oversee a junior level social media coordinator.
Wintrust Marketing facilitates the marketing needs for Wintrust, a financial company with more than $30 billion in assets. Our internal creative team executes corporate, Wintrust Community Bank, and business unit collateral requests. These include, but are not limited to, print ads, large format signage, logos, brochures/flyers, event promotional materials, web content, social media content, radio scripts and spots, press releases, internal/external video, murals, and local/corporate advertising campaigns. Wintrust is actively involved with many of the organizations that make this area unique, including the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Red Stars, Schaumburg Boomers, Bernie’s Book Bank, The Chicago Writer’s Museum, the Race to Mackinac, and Habitat for Humanity Chicago, to name a few.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage, publish, and track content across social platforms and websites
• Align with and inform content creation teams about where to focus content efforts.
• Will monitor SEO, user engagement, industry trends, and gaps in current content, to encourage content optimization and capitalize on new opportunities
• Work with copywriting team to create content calendars and ensure we stay on target
• Work with analytics team to track and measure success
• Oversee the monitoring of and response to social media questions, complaints and inquiries
• Work with vendor to curate third party content that fits within editorial calendar
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field
• Must be organized and have great time management
• Some writing experience preferred
• Solid communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience running social media accounts for businesses
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and knowledge of content management systems
• SEO experience is a plus
• Three to five years of related work experience
