Job Description:
At Regions, the Risk Quantitative Model Validation Manager will manage the validation and control process for all models in one or more model families, e.g., credit, market, stress testing etc.
Will be responsible for developing quantitative/analytic models and applications in support of Regions risk management efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
• Prioritizes, plans and manages the model validation and control process of one or more large families of models
• Determines model's conceptual soundness, appropriateness and validity
• Translates advanced mathematical theories and their applications along with findings to management
• Assesses and helps mitigate the risk of complex models used in all lines of business
• Oversees the banks highest risk and most complex models within a model family to effectively challenge both modeling concepts and implementation with emphasis on applicability, relevancy and reliability
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
• Bachelors degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics or a related field with seven years related experience and two years related managerial experience
• Or Masters degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics or a related field with five years related experience and two years related managerial experience
Skills and Competencies
• Matlab, Mathcad, SAS, C++/C#, Excel/VBA, QRM, Algorithmics or Moody's Credit Manager
• Ability to work on diverse set of high priority projects
• Interpersonal skills
• Exceptional Communication skills
Preferences
• Ph.D in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics or a related field
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
• Financial Risk Manager (FRM)
