Manager, Risk Management, Third Party Risk
Overview:
This role supports the Global Third Party Risk Management Program framework and ensures robust validation and ongoing monitoring processes are practiced for a portfolio of Third Parties. Through collaboration with business owners, business leaders, external Third Parties and internal subject matter experts (i.e. Corporate Security, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, etc.), the incumbent enables and advances program objectives by balancing business needs, protecting Mastercard and promoting high internal quality standards and controls for third party relationships.
Role:
• In partnership with internal stakeholders; lead the development of ongoing monitoring activities and protocols for Third Party relationships to sustain transparency into residual risks throughout the lifecycle.
• Validates and monitor third party controls and contractual adherence through the harmonization of periodic remote and on-site visits, with key third parties, to ensure exposures are accurately measured, reported and managed.
• Maintain third party monitoring plans and other centralized third party documentation to facilitate analysis, cross-functional information sharing, and reporting across the full inventory of third party relationships.
• Manage and continually enhance the Third Party Oversight Program and associated processes and tools based on leading industry practices and internal/external requirements across a diverse base of engagements and third party types.
• Establish and maintain risk profile reporting accuracy, consistency, data integrity and creation/distribution of dashboards and reports to key stakeholders, as defined.
• Produce periodic management reports summarizing key oversight results of high exposure and or high risk third parties, including predictive modeling on emerging issues and targeted treatment updates for Third Party Risk Management Sr. Leadership and assigned business line(s) management team.
• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, across various levels and areas of the organization, to support third party risk portfolio management.
• Provide consulting, guidance and education on third party governance, oversight and risk mitigation approaches throughout the third party lifecycle to business operations, key stakeholders and team members.
• Provide program & process awareness and training to strengthen program practices within assigned business line(s).
• Lead and/or contribute to special projects and initiatives such as program enhancements process improvements, enterprise level working teams, and ad hoc requests.
• Facilitate and escalate material issues to appropriate subject matter experts (i.e. Corporate Security, Compliance, Legal, etc.) and business leadership to develop appropriate treatment plan to mitigate critical risks.
• Take thoughtful risks, advising TPRM Sr. Leadership, leveraging experience, analysis and business knowledge for complex relationships and complex risks.
• Mentor and coach more junior associates.
Experience:
• Demonstrated success participating in high performance risk management, vendor management, audit, compliance and/or sourcing team.
• Experience in leading the development, implementation and sustainability of third party risk identification, treatment plans and ongoing monitoring protocols.
• Established ability to lead collaborative problem solving initiatives associated with residual risk concerns.
• Experience utilizing dashboard reporting related to third party risk monitoring and metrics.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, work comfortably with ambiguity, and manage multiple tasks successfully
• Demonstrated strong customer focus and presence.
• Effective communication skills across all lines of defense and various levels.
Skills:
• Ability to translate risk information & concerns and articulate key messages concisely.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to connect with others with the ability to build and sustain relationships across the organization.
• Ability to be self-sufficient and proactive in identifying control gaps, opportunities and improvements.
• Highly organized with special attention to detail
