IT Group Description:
The Operations Technology group is a key part of the IT organization at AB and provides back and middle office systems to support most parts of operations and the front office. The group is responsible for applications used for client reporting, data warehousing, portfolio accounting, internal reporting, data delivery, pricing, performance calculation, and attribution. Operations Technology is responsible for 20 applications. Some of these are vendor products but most are designed, developed, and tested in-house. These applications are in use 24 hours a day with a user community spread across the globe including offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Mumbai, Pune, London, New York, White Plains, and San Antonio.
Operations Technology includes 23 AB employees and more than 100 people in off-shore locations. Responsibilities
We are seeking a Nashville based developer/team lead to join our Settlements, Reconciliation & Client Reporting IT group in Operations Technology.
This technical resource will lead the onsite and offshore development team in implementing Excel, PowerPoint and PDF custom reports in AB’s Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS) platform. The resource will also support the development of reconciliation reports using the BIRT reporting tool.
Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:
This role will support the VRS client reporting platform for AB’s regional client reporting teams. In addition, support for BIRT reconciliation reporting for AB’s regional reconciliation teams will also be provided.
The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
This technical resource will lead the onsite and offshore development team which supports AB’s Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS) platform. This person will work with our regional business clients and business analysts in gathering and confirming requirements, delegate development tasks, guide and mentor the development team with technical issues/questions, code review, assist in testing, coordinate UAT & production deployments and assist with upgrades and production support activities.

The person in this role will have the opportunity to demonstrate and strengthen skills as a lead for a development team, working with both onsite and offshore developers. They will build expertise in building and supporting client reports. They will also gain hands on development experience with SQL server DB objects and stored procedures along with the development and configuration of custom reports in Vermilion. The person will gain an understanding of business concepts relevant to investment management operations, client reporting and reconciliations.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems and or relevant experience
• The developer should have programming experience and demonstrate proficiency in SQL Server
• Previous experience implementing SSIS packages is helpful
• Knowledge of the investment management business domain is a plus
• In addition, experience working with IBM MQ, ControlM, SVN, UNIX, PERL, Jira, Wiki or Java highly beneficial.
• Experience with implementing and supporting investment management client reporting, reconciliation and/or settlements platforms desirable.
• Expertise with building custom reports with such reporting tools as Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS), SimCorp Coric, Varden Technologies eReportal Suite, Vista One Solutions, SS&C Advent, Crystal Reports, and or others is a plus.
Special Knowledge:
Knowledge about Oracle/SQL Server based Data Warehouses would be a big plus.
