The VP, Vendor Management role reports to the head of Vendor Management for Legal and Compliance Division and executes the Division’s strategic sourcing of services.
The individual will be responsible for:
• Establish relationships and support internal clients to resolve issues with vendors, help manage the relationship and identify business opportunities to reduce cost, improve process and introduce new capabilities through third party engagement.
• Daily execution and management of the BAU Vendor management processes to ensure timely and quality deliverables for the business stakeholders. Those processes include Task Order, ad hoc requests, Special engagement, RFP, contingent hiring processes, etc.
• Working with internal clients on new and existing opportunities for vendor sourcing, identifying potential suppliers and undertaking feasibility and cost benefit analysis.
• Support negotiations with potential vendors in partnership with Morgan Stanley Corporate Sourcing and the Firm’s legal team.
• Lead the RFP process to guide the business through making the best decision in identifying third party partners with the support from Sourcing.
• Manage relationships with existing vendors to ensure they are meeting Morgan Stanley’s goals and performing in line with contracts.
• Support the Division works within Morgan Stanley’s agreed frameworks for managing supplier risk.
• Ensure vendor compliance with MS processes and internal risk & audit regarding security and operational reviews.
• Manages Vendor Management team’s internal dashboard and generates management reports.
• Develop project plans, manage client expectations, track issues, risks and scope changes throughout all phases of assigned projects.
• Assist in the preparation, analysis and distribution of various reports for management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in financial industry
• Experience in vendor management and/or project management
• Understanding of contract management skills
• Third party risk management experience a plus
• Proactive approach and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong consulting, large project management and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, at all levels and across the global businesses
• Must be very organized and have a high level of attention to detail
• Driven to solve business problems creatively and effectively with analytical approach to assess them and to structure solutions
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Ability to work independently and make decisions, escalating when appropriate
• Willingness and ability to reach out to and work with all levels in the organization across various functional disciplines
• Flexibility in approach, quick learner and ability to adapt quickly
• Proficient in MS Office suite especially EXCEL and PPT skills.
