Job Description
This position performs all phases of complex regulatory compliance audits of the bank and its subsidiaries.
Principal Responsibilities:
Conducts all phases of audits including planning, fieldwork, reporting and performing follow-up. Identifies critical risks, audit objectives and control activities. Designs audit work and time estimates to satisfy control objectives for multiple audit areas or sections.
Evaluates complex business regulatory compliance risks and makes recommendations to address control weaknesses and consult with management in addressing control risks. Partners with internal financial, operational and compliance teams as needed.
Designs and performs vendor reviews over key third party providers.
Create audit programs, prepare audit planning memos and document workpaper to support audit reports in accordance with department auditing standards.
Analyzes and finalizes audit work and summarizes and communicates results to audit manager. Participates in the communication of results with business area or senior management.
Elicits corrective action from business area management and prepares draft audit reports and presents the results to business area management.
Prepares and/or reviews audit findings and recommendations and monitor the progress of management action plans to address previously issued recommendations.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience Requirements:
College degree or equivalent work experience required.
2-5 years relevant experience including regulatory compliance.
Additional Job Requirements:
Certification/License: CIA, CRCM, CBA preferred
Behavioral/Technical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to effectively assess regulatory compliance risks and determine the impact to business operations and financial reporting in a manner that balances the needs of company risk management practices as well as the business unit.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management and external counterparts to establish and foster critical internal and external working relationships with strong listening, negotiation and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to write reports and communicate audit findings (both verbally and in writing) to management and staff.
Excellent project management skills, ability to meet deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, manage priorities and prepare timely status updates independently.
Excellent PC skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, internet and industry specific programs.
