Description
The individual will lead the Borrowing team within the Treasurers Department. The successful candidate will manage a team of 5 to 6 individuals responsible for meeting Prudential’s issuance needs including debt, equity and other securities. The individual will be responsible for managing Prudential’s commercial paper program and also oversee Prudential’s share repurchase program.
The candidate will interact with various internal corporate groups within Prudential including Legal, Tax, and Enterprise Risk Management. The individual will also be expected to develop and maintain relationships with external intermediaries and potential capital providers.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
•Development of Prudential’s long-term and short-term capital and operating debt strategy including the presentation of that strategy to senior management.
•Execution of Prudential’s issuance strategy which may include debt, equity, hybrid, and other securities.
•Management of the company’s debt forecasting process
•Ownership of Prudential’s internal borrowing policies and procedures including the pricing of internal borrowings
•Oversee the reporting requirements related to Prudential’s borrowing activities for quarterly GAAP and STAT disclosures
•Oversee Prudential’s three directly managed commercial paper programs. The individual will be expected to understand liquidity risk positions, regulatory and market information and assist in the development, implementation and execution of issuance strategies across all three programs.
•Responsibility for the execution of the companies share repurchase program.
Qualifications
Previous experience (minimum 10 years) in debt and equity capital markets including in depth knowledge of money markets and commercial paper markets.
•Solid capabilities in fixed-income mathematics and analysis
•Thorough knowledge of key terms and documents related to various types of financing structures
•Very strong interpersonal skills.
•Understanding of portfolio risks and mandates.
•Good understanding of interest rate swaps and other derivative markets and products.
•Ability to lead a team in a stressful environment
•MBA and CFA preferred
•Experience with MS Excel, Power point and Bloomberg desirable.
•Series 7 and 24 are required within 180 days of employment
•Series 63 and 65 or 66 is required within 180 days of employment
