The Learning and Development Programs Manager oversees the creation and implementation of the business line’s employee development programs, instructs core and advanced workshops, and designs and develops engaging training material. Primary responsibilities include administering the employee development programs, New-Hire Onboarding workshop, and Cooperative Learning Model. Provides guidance on all activities aimed at enhancing employee growth and development.

Major Responsibilities:
Employee Development Programs
• Prioritize and execute projects, initiatives, and activities to develop and support development programs.
• Identify and address development program opportunities and challenges, and implement improvements or enhancements to maintain business line objectives.
• Represent business unit as project team lead for development programs.
• Participate in overall department planning, evaluation, and budgeting process by analyzing needs and making recommendations.
• Manage other high priority special projects as required by the business unit lead.
Partner Liaison and Communication
• Act as a point of contact and/or liaison between business unit lead and other management, business partners, and business unit front line employees.
• Participate in overall department planning, evaluation, and budgeting process by analyzing needs and prepare and deliver project/initiative updates and analytical information to management.
• Support business unit leads in efforts and development of tactical steps or action plans to accomplish initiatives.
• Develop project plans to ensure on-time project completion as well as tracking mechanisms and reporting to measure success.
• Manage other high priority special projects as required by the business unit lead.
Training Delivery, and Design
• Instruct core or advanced workshops to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
• Prepare to instruct workshops by reviewing materials, practicing systems, creating visuals, testing equipment, rehearsing, obtaining advice and information from other instructors, preparing exercises, setting-up room and materials, and making travel plans.
• Design and develop relevant and engaging training deliverables using the most appropriate software or authoring tools.
• Assure accurate and relevant deliverables by leveraging subject matter experts in the design and development of materials.
• Assure deadlines are met and client or sponsor is kept engaged and informed of progress.
Qualifications
Education, Licensure, and Years of Experience
• 5+ years of management experience in a financial institution.
• 5+ years’ experience in a learning and development organization.
• Knowledge of basic business and banking terminology, concepts, and processes and knowledge of federal regulations, bank policies, operating practices and procedures normally attained through 3+ years’ banking experience.
• Proficiency in working with PC applications (MS Office Suite) and other software utilized by the bank.
• Expertise in curriculum and workshop design, and in all training techniques used at the bank at a skill level which imparts successful learning.
• Current experience in instructional design and/or technical writing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong organization development and consulting skills, as well as, creative problem solving ability.
• Ability to prioritize, schedule, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communications skills to present technical and complex concepts and able to understand and communicate those concepts quickly and accurately.
• Working knowledge of industry-standard instructional design tools to produce engaging courseware.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship development skills necessary to influence employees at all levels about opinions, ideas, attitudes, or things with tact and sensitivity.
• Creates a culture of collaboration to ensure the success of projects from development to deployment.
• Keeps knowledge up to date on changes in bank and department policies, procedures, and products within the bank.
• Develops knowledge and skills to continuously enhance industry, company, management, training facilitation and curriculum design skills and knowledge.
