EXECUTIVE OFFICE

Brand and Content Strategy Summary:The Brand and Content Strategy group is responsible for managing the external facing brand of Goldman Sachs and creating content that explains our businesses, the work we do for clients, and sharing insights on key trends and themes shaping the global economy. We create content that is distributed across goldmansachs.com, social media, paid media campaigns and sponsored content hubs, among other platforms. Our team also manages the firm’s presence on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) and the GS.com website. We manage marketing for firm recruitment efforts (partnering with Human Capital Management), the philanthropic efforts of the Office of Corporate Engagement (e.g., 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses), conferences and speaker series, along with agency and outside vendor sourcing.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Role Summary
The Brand and Content Strategy Group is looking for a VP, Marketing Analytics to craft and execute a vision for how to leverage data to inform Goldman Sachs’ content marketing strategy.
You are an experienced and proven analytics leader with an extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytics techniques. You are someone who can distil your findings into actionable insights that can be implemented by our in-house content studio and agency partners. You are skilled at data storytelling and able to clearly and confidently present to senior executives.
We are looking for someone with strong intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit, and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude who loves to solve problems. The data-driven strategic recommendations you provide will help inform Goldman Sachs’ content development and advertising efforts. You will also lead the relationships with partners to analyze a wide range of digital metrics to help influence strategic marketing decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Analytics Strategy
• Drive our analytics and measurement framework to make sure it reflects a modern approach to leveraging data to inform the execution of our distribution strategy, audience targeting and content development.
• Be the main person on the BCS team responsible for understanding all of the data that underpins our content creation and promotion efforts, and presenting your analysis and insights of this data to management.
• Present to senior executives and key stakeholders on the state of various campaigns, progress toward brand goals, and insights uncovered as we have continued to iterate, test and learn.
• Oversee efforts to collect and analyze digital marketing metrics working with agencies and consultants, including social media campaigns, other paid media, podcast measurement, goldmansachs.com website traffic, search engine marketing, email marketing (i.e. BRIEFINGS newsletter), and more.
Data Infrastructure
• Work with tech colleagues to ensure the proper integration and aggregation of data from multiple sources into our proprietary data lake.
• Must be able to identify issues with the data and problem solve.
• Use BI/data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) to help uncover insights and use data to tell a story.
• Create and automate comprehensive dashboards and visualizations to display and help understand the quantitative results.
Social Media Listening
• Construct Bollean queries to create social media listening reports (e.g., Crimson Hexagon, Sysomos, Nuvi) for media monitoring, brand sentiment, and gauging the impact of and reaction to our ad campaigns.
Paid Media Tracking and Optimization
• Track the performance of our paid media against our KPIs and meet regularly with our agency to manage media optimization.
• Measure and track the impact of our paid media on our key target audience to help inform optimizations and next steps.
• Be conversant regarding the various content we have produced, content formats and ad units given that the variables within each of these influence our metrics and must be understood provide context.
Insights:
• Provide insights to the team and senior management based on analysis and in the context of ongoing paid/owned/earned media to help inform brand marketing and content strategies across digital platforms.
• Work with the agency and social platforms to implement A/B testing for social media platforms to help drive our content and distribution strategy.
Research Tracking and Brand-Lift Studies
• Work with colleagues tracking brand health to understand the impact of our paid media campaigns and content.
• Work with research colleagues to help manage brand lift studies with third-party platforms.
Reporting
• Ensure regular, accurate reporting on the results of campaigns, including reports on video views, podcast downloads/streams, infographic engagement, web analytics, etc.
• Design and implement custom analysis on a project-by-project basis.

Required Skills and Experiences
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a quantitative focus
• Master’s degree or an MBA preferred but not required
• 6+ years of experience in marketing analytics, management consulting with analytics experience, or other relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of marketing analytics, methodologies and platforms.
• Ability to translate metrics into actionable insights.
• Experience combining quantitative analytics and qualitative analysis.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Exceptional analytic, mathematic, statistical, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Experience with social media platform analytics (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
• Skilled with social media listening tools and Boolean queries (e.g. Crimson Hexagon, Sysomos, Netbase, Nuvi)
• Experience leveraging data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
• Familiarity working with web analytics, tag management, and preferably also experienced with web analytics solutions (i.e. Adobe Analytics / Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.)
• Familiarity with e-mail marketing analytics or other CRM analytics tools a plus (e.g. Adobe Campaign, ExactTarget/Salesforce, etc.)
• Experience with audience targeting and pixel-tracking a plus
• Experience in A/B testing methodologies for digital platforms a plus
• Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment and to learn new systems quickly.
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
