Description
Responsible for adequate testing prior to implementation to ensure that products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. Administer change control process for zero defect development. Administer problem management process including monitoring and reporting on problem resolution. This position delegates tasks to accomplish the workflow and department objectives, provides input toward the hiring, termination and performance evaluation processes. Make recommendations to direct Manager, regarding process improvements and operating policies to increase overall efficiency.
• Manage the weekly priorities for the team including estimating requested efforts, determine what can be accommodated based on estimates, pre-requisite deliverable turn over timelines and available resource hours
• Analyze projects and determine optimal testing scope and strategy to reduce risk and increase speed to market. Ability to be decisive on approach needed for testing for specific project, based on complexity and needs of the business (i.e. use of automated testing tool vs. manual testing)
• Interact with project stakeholders (Project Lead, Underwriting, Claims, Product Implementation, System Implementation, IT, Legal, Marketing, and Project End-Users) to review weekly priority, ongoing testing status and Go/No Go determination based on testing results
• Communicate and present solutions/recommendations to Management in a clear and concise way
• Create testing requirements, determine design and implementation of processes previously identified to increase speed to market, increase quality and formalize/standardize testing artifacts
• Create test plans and test scenarios for manual and automated tests
• Ensure all requirements of the project are transformed into either manual or automated executable test cases
• Execute both manual and automated tests
• Maintain existing automated scripts
• Create new automated scripts per Business needs using existing tool set
• Manages the Product Implementation schedule and resource planning tools
• Implements processes and/or tools to increase efficiency, quality and predictability of testing
• Perform any other duties as requested by the Testing Team Manager
• Provides input toward the hiring, termination and disciplinary process
• Appraises and documents employee’s performance. Provides recommendations to management
Qualifications
Education (Minimum):
• Four-year college degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 to 7 years overall experience to include a minimum three years testing services
Education (Preferred):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• Software testing certification such as SQA or CSTE
• Experience in Selenium
• Three to five years project management experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with Technology Areas, Business Partners, and Sourced Groups
• Excellent project and people management skills
• Ability to analyze project scope and make recommendations on strategies/approach to testing plans
• Solid experience working with AS400
• Proficient at reading and interpreting Product Specification Packages, Product Specification Amendments, New Account Data Sheets and Lost Account Data Sheets on an ongoing basis
• Strong background and understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Experience in the areas of manual and automated test planning, estimates, preparing, creating and executing test cases
• Solid experience with SalesForce application
• Knowledge in QA automation methodology (keyword and data driven frameworks)
• Knowledge in testing/project management tools (Clarizen, JIRA, HP Quality Center)
• Knowledge in Java development
• Knowledge in acting as Automation Lead, including guiding team members in test case/script preparation and execution
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral as well as exceptional interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of completing complicated tasks with little to no supervision or direction
• Experience in Estimation and Risk management
• Ability to work independently
• Defect management experience required
• Proficient in MS Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio
