We currently have an exciting role for a senior actuary, Actuarial Production. AIG L&R’s modeling team focuses on implementing best practices from across the actuarial profession, insurance industry, and software development practice to build actuarial models, data feeds and develop test cases and testing tools to validate and document all aspects of these models. This senior actuary role will focus on building the L&R ALM production environment based on AXIS.
Responsibilities include:
• Automate batches and reports for production for valuations and risk sensitivity measures for various insurance contracts, including variable annuity, fix annuity, fixed index annuity, universal life, etc.
• Run models to support stakeholders needs in regards to GAAP and STAT sensitivity measures and Cash Flow Testing
• Interface with the Development and QA teams for Production intake assessments of new models delivered according to the development roadmap schedule
• Developing detailed documentation of processes, controls, and deficiencies in accordance with corporate and regulatory standards
• Support the Production team with on-going project support to create a more streamline production process
• R&D on efficiency and cost reduction modelling techniques like model point reductions
• Participate in other production tasks, as required
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Related Field
• Bachelor degree with 5 years of relevant experience or master degree with 3 years of relevant experience in actuarial modeling, capital markets and asset-liability management
• ASA designation required. FSA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of derivative markets and risk neutral valuation.
• Strong working knowledge of US life insurance and annuity product features, regulatory environment and risks
• Strong programming skills with VB and SQL. Understand best practice in software development.
• Prior experience with actuarial modeling software is required (AXIS preferred).
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Comfortable working in a structured environment with multidisciplinary teams to build complex systems and emphasizes operational controls.
• Ability to work on multiple projects, often with tight deadlines.
