As part of the Corporate Controllers Department of the CFO Organization of Prudential Financial, Inc., the Corporate Planning and Analysis/Management Reporting unit is responsible for all planning and analysis functions associated with projecting GAAP and Statutory financial statements, CFO/Controller support for quarterly results reporting and BOD presentations
The Financial Reporting Specialist, Financial Planning & Analysis position requires partnering with finance staff throughout Prudential, including all Business and Corporate Groups. Primary responsibilities include:
• Support certain aspects of the Enterprise Quarterly financial statement forecast process:
• Preparing forecast package to communicate results and key trends to senior leaders
• Partner with the Planning & Analysis community to analyze segment financial results
• Maintain mechanized financial statement forecast process in Forecast Application (Obero)
• Assist with BU/Corp liaison meetings
• Support coordination of CFO earnings call preparation process
• Coordinate earnings preparation materials for senior management’s use in earnings discussions with Wall Street analysts, regulators, and rating agencies
• Support analysis of results (actuals and forecast) and preparation of senior management reporting packages including Board materials
• Seek to improve forecast processes and controls through creative solutions including, testing and implementing the Deterministic Projection Capabilities process or introducing new technology to build in efficient procedures
• Responding to Ad-hoc requests on an as needed basis
The ideal candidate will have a strong education background at least 3 years work experience. This includes broad knowledge of business drivers and their financial implications to the profit center and/or business group. The candidate should also have excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, be eager to learn and accept new and challenging work assignments and have a proven track record. Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
• Advanced degree or designation is a plus (MBA, CPA or CFA)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent oral/written communication skills
• Self-motivated and proactive, with an ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
• Easily establishes a rapport with others, as well as builds effective business partnerships
• Requires a high ethical standard and ability to work with confidential information
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint required
• Strong knowledge of Prudential systems (e.g., EFDW, PFAP, QFS, Obero)
• Overtime required during peak reporting periods
