Job Description
This job is responsible for the review and setup of the Participated and Syndicated loan portfolio on the ACBS loan-servicing platform. This position is also responsible for all ongoing loan maintenance related functions pertaining to the ACBS loan portfolio.
Reviews, sets up and maintains complex Participation and Syndication commercial loans on the ACBS loan servicing system. Performs a detailed review of loan documentation, including credit agreements, loan assignment agreements and collateral documentation. Responsible for review of all critical coding to ensure the quality control of commercial loan packages and corresponding system input. Identifies quality control trends and addresses issues.
Reviews loan disbursements, identifies errors, and works with appropriate individuals to resolve and recover as needed.
Acts as the primary point of contact for any ACBS Loan Maintenance related request. Including loan renewals, amendments, forbearance agreements and non-performing loans.
Monitors daily, weekly and monthly loan reports related to the ACBS loan portfolio. Completes any exception report processing as needed based on the reports.
Works cross-functionally with other business units as well as with peers and management across loan operations to research and resolve complex systems issues. Requests assistance as needed for unique situations.
Identifies internal process areas in need of improvement and training needs related to commercial loan systems, regulatory requirements, documentation and credit policies and provides recommendations to management.
Assists in various department projects including system upgrades, conversions and interfaces.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
Job Requirements
College degree or equivalent work experience.
5 -7 years relevant experience.
Specialized knowledge and understanding of commercial participation/syndicated loan documentation, policies, procedures and operations as well as related regulatory and compliance mandates and issues. Ability to maintain expertise and keep informed of trends and developments.
Proven ability to understand and apply regulatory compliance and credit policy to daily responsibilities. Broad experience analyzing legal documents and determining a course of action based on findings.
Strong working knowledge of non-accrual and charge-off accounting.
Strong ability to evaluate, analyze and quantify the impact of the issues involved. Ability to evaluate and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Strong PC skills required, including loan accounting software, email, word processing, spreadsheets, and standard industry and internal software. Ability to learn new applications as needed. Experience with querying databases.
Strong time management and organization skills. Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, manage priorities and provide timely status updates, while also assisting more junior team members.
Ability to use own discretion when faced with decisions and appropriately escalate issues requiring a higher level of decision making or problem solving.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees, management and external counterparts. Ability to establish and foster critical internal and external working relationships.
Ability to handle escalated situations using effective interpersonal, negotiating and problem solving skills.
Ability to work with a team and share knowledge and skills.
