Position:Organization Development Consultant
The Organization Development Consultant is a member of a team of Organization Development professionals supporting a high growth organization. As an organization development expert, this individual will utilize the full set of organization development tools and methods, including organizational design, strategy development, organizational alignment, change management, facilitation design and process and project management, as well as situational leadership advice and guidance to coach leaders through this work. S/he will need a working knowledge of individual and organization assessment, behavioral science, employee engagement, facilitation, and group dynamics, and will pull on that expertise as needed. As a member of the Talent Management team, the Organization Development Consultant will support the team’s broader focus on the firm's talent strategy.
Responsibility Summary:
• Collaborate with Human Resources colleagues and business leaders to diagnose business needs and create/support targeted interventions including: organization design, change management, and leadership effectiveness
• Using a systemic approach diagnose, create and lead leadership teams through the organizational design process with a focus on the integration of strategy, external environment, work, talent, structure, rewards and culture.
• Create necessary relationships, links and connections to inform and influence organization design decisions
• Engage in large scale change initiatives to help the firm and leaders anticipate, accept, and lead change
• Facilitate change in individuals, groups, and divisions in a way that enables them to address similar situations in the future
• Create and manage work plans, communication, and sustainability processes to support consulting initiatives
• Champion and model thinking and behavior changes aligned with organizational change and talent beliefs
• Stay current on research and practices in organization design and change management, and the interdependence of related talent solutions (e.g. leadership, learning, assessment, performance management, etc.)
• Deepen expertise within the team and build capability in the firm among Human Resources and business leaders related to change leadership, organizational effectiveness, and the development of leaders and leadership
Position Requirements:
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in an internal or external role consulting with senior leaders and Human Resources colleagues to diagnose needs and develop/implement organization development (organization design and change) solutions. Needs to have additional relevant career experience influencing teams, building subject matter expertise and delivering results.
• At least two years of experience leading and coaching others, either directly or indirectly.
• Solid understanding of business concepts, strategic alignment and identification of talent implications
• Demonstrated ability to use diagnostic skills to translate the theory of organization development into practical applications that improve business results
• Expertise in organization development, including change management, organization design, leadership development, and broad talent management disciplines
• Strong engagement and consulting skills; ability to build strong relationships and work effectively in a highly matrixed environment
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong project planning and management skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities with ease
• Excellent strategic planning and operational deployment skills; with the ability to integrate and align strategy, people, and activities across functions, processes, and teams; capable of translating a vision and strategy into clear actionable goals
• Strong capability and courage to “tell the truth” to senior leadership and gain necessary sponsorship for organization development interventions that are critical to achieving business objectives
• Ability to form, initiate and carry through design to implementation and measurement
• Ability to influence multiple levels of the organization and build strong relationships with colleagues
