Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to drive the business through support for the actuarial function and staff, related to data, systems, and operational services. This position routinely creates reports, executes testing, and provides input into actuarial system requirements, using established and documented procedures with close supervision to obtain expected results.
Essential Functions:
• Access and retrieve data from various systems; support fulfillment of ad hoc data requests
• Prepare, maintain, and distribute materials to internal customers
• Perform established operational processes on a timely basis, completely and accurately
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with appropriate standards
• Perform calculations using well-defined processes
• Take direction on system requirement development
• Test/validate documented requirements and changes for actuarial software, data, and systems
• Work with actuarial associates to validate that test cases are comprehensive and complete
• Assist with development and maintenance of all Corporate Actuarial databases by validating data, assisting with data definitions, and documenting processes
• Assist in the gate-keeper function, for Corporate Actuarial application code, ensuring that documentation and sign-off requirements are met prior to code migration
• Execute, document, and provide input into regression testing processes and procedures
• Develop and maintain documentation of quarterly processes and other work performed, for internal use
• Develop new procedures to improve on processes when appropriate
• Take direction on report creation
• Follow change and project management protocol
• Identify, investigate, escalate, and track anomalies in data and/or systems used by Corporate Actuarial
• Assist in ensuring technology solutions support business processes
• Provide input into annual project planning process
• Work with internal associates, third parties, and vendors to ensure data and system requirements are met
• And additional duties as required.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Insurance, or a related field
• Less than 2 years experience related experience
