CNA has an opening for a Senior Learning & Development Consultant. This position will be responsible for the design, development and execution of learning solutions in one or more of our key focus areas: Onboarding Programs, Employee Development, Leadership Development and/or Sales Development. As part of the Human Resources organization, this person will work closely with our home office and field organization leaders and others to identify development needs and execute on learning strategies.
Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded L&D professional that is skilled and knowledgeable in a variety of areas; strong instructional design, eLearning and instructor-led solution development, project management, communication and facilitation skills and the ability to interact effectively with multiple key stakeholders are essential.
Job Summary
The L&D Sr Consultant works with HRBPs and business HR colleagues and business stakeholders to build and deploy performance and learning solutions across a variety of platforms and delivery modes to improve business results.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Works closely with stakeholders to clearly identify skill gaps to be addressed
2. Understands current and future business environment and issues in order to develop and recommend the most impactful solutions
3. Works with internal and external business partners to generate solutions and plan/implement those solutions
4. Designs comprehensive, modern, blended curricula to provide development on the needed skills
5. Uses strong project management practices to set strategy and budget for multi-work stream projects; plan, develop and implement learning solutions; keep stakeholders engaged and informed
6. Designs and develops training program content, exercises, case scenarios, leader and participant materials for instructor-led, online and/or mobile eLearning
7. Identifies, creates and deploys comprehensive communication, reinforcement and support plans
8. Tracks program participant progress and available metrics in order to measure results and continually enhance offerings
9. Prepares and gives presentations to management or appropriate individuals on project status and results
10. Provides consulting, development, project and/or delivery support for regional or national meetings

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
• Strong knowledge of learning design, instructional methods and training techniques including curriculum design principles, adult learning and blended learning theory and strategies
• Significant experience in end-to-end learning project management and project leadership skills, including detailed project planning and execution
• Knowledge of various learning technologies including Learning & Content Management Systems, eLearning tools, mobile enabled learning, and virtual training (distance learning) platforms (Skype for Business)
• Desired tool experience includes Storyline and Captivate; desired technical skills include HTML/web programming, multimedia and graphic design, AICC/SCORM, SharePoint, Cornerstone on Demand and Workday
• Solid business acumen, knowledge of the business and client group, and the ability to effectively implement L&D strategies to support business goals
• Highly collaborative and comfortable navigating organizational dynamics
• Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and to make critical business decisions effectively
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills both verbal and written
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent with professional designation preferred.
2. Typically a minimum of eight years educational design/development and training experience.
3. Insurance industry experience a plus
