Private Client Advisor Associate primary responsibility is the support of our Private Client Advisors (“PCA”s) who are accountable for the delivery of wealth management advisory services to high net worth clients of Commerce Trust Company (“CTC”).
The Associates perform service and fulfillment activities to meet the needs and expectations of CTC clients on a daily basis. As fiduciary and wealth management experts the Associate acts as an additional point of contact within the client relationship team for clients and their advisors and/or as a backup for client-facing PCA’s. They provide high level administrative client service and support (assistance with all aspects of account administration, document review and interpretation, fund transfers, discretionary actions within fiduciary engagements, coordination of documents needed for tax preparation, and client satisfaction and retention) to PCA’s and other client relationship team members. The Associate will also directly oversee responsibilities of an Administrative Assistant if working under a tiered support relationship model.
A key focus of the position is to reduce the time spent by the PCA on administrative, operational and compliance issues, so that the PCA can devote more time to business retention and development. Additionally, the Associate will take initiative in identifying opportunities for expansion of relationships with existing clients and bringing the opportunities to the attention of the PCA.
Bachelor’s Degree. 3 to 5 years experience in providing high level client service in a similar role (Preference to wealth management, private banking, financial planning). Proficient at professional letter writing and electronic communication. Advanced Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint software capabilities. Professional presence and approach and desire to exceed client expectations. Positive attitude and ability to work independently to accomplish job responsibilities with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of complex issues such as ERISA Regulations, the Uniform Principal and Income Act, Gifting strategies, Income, Gift and Estate Taxes and their impact on administration of client accounts. Working knowledge of types of trusts and investment accounts and the distinct understanding of the goals and objectives associated with each.
