Responsible for the evaluation and assessment of assigned loan files for quality control review. Selects mortgage and consumer loan files for compliance with established internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations. Identifies and documents when company standards, or any regulations, have not been followed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Selects and requests loan files/reports chosen for company quality review program.
• Reviews audit findings with supervisor to determine additional research required to ensure accurate reporting of findings or to determine compliance with program.
• Distributes final, periodic reports to management.
• Tracks, follows up and reviews audit responses to ensure completeness of the quality review program.
• Updates quality control guidelines/documentation as necessary to comply with changes in company, federal and state policies, procedures, regulations or statutes.
• Audits Purchase Mortgage Servicing Rights files to identify and track missing loan documents.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to mortgage and consumer lending. Working knowledge of loan processing, closing and servicing practices.
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and analyze financial accounts and installment loan records.
• Analytical ability sufficient to determine compliance with established procedural standards; to research and document variance from standards. Ability to accurately perform, verify and understand basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally, in person and by telephone, with all levels of the organization and with external customers.
• Ability to enter and extract data from a computer database. Ability to locate data in a computer database for the purpose of researching and resolving customer inquiries.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Considerable knowledge of and ability to use automated accounting systems; ability to use personal computers, peripherals, business software, and applications specific to organizational needs.
• Associate’s degree in real estate, business, accounting or a related field, with two to three years of mortgage or consumer loan experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
