Vanguard has an exciting new opportunity for a Fund Reporting Manager in Malvern, PA. This person will lead our Fund Regulatory Reporting team in Vanguard’s Fund Financial Services department overseeing fund SEC filings.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Will manage staff and provide guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff.
• Accountable for the end-to-end reporting process and daily operations to ensure accurate and timely execution of the group's key deliverables. Reviews Annual Form N-CEN filings, Monthly Form N-PORT and N-MFP filings and other regulatory requests for accuracy prior to filing with SEC and other regulatory agencies.
• Responsible for Vendor Oversight and formulating business case decisions regarding external third parties. Manage internal IT budget, shared services business partners and external software vendors to make process improvements, system updates and enhancements.
• Develops and maintains broad knowledge and awareness of current fund events and regulatory changes that may impact department responsibilities. Analyzes and communicates the impacts of changes and assists in facilitating the implementation of these changes within the department.
• Ensures that team achieves significant accomplishments with a positive impact on department results through effective communication and coordination with other functional groups. Builds expertise and identifies best practices that promote operational excellence and advocates positive change.
• Leads team business plans to achieve departmental objectives. Works with senior management in the planning, development and execution of short and long range goals and strategies to meet department and corporate objectives. Supports department and Vanguard initiatives by leading Vanguard Unmatchable Excellence, business risk management, and other project efforts. Effectively communicates and presents results to senior management.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of five years of related experience and one to two years management experience.
• Ability to respond to reporting changes, communicate same to staff and other departments, and effectively develop implementation plans.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or objectives.
• Familiarity with SEC and generally accepted accounting principles for mutual funds preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of mutual fund accounting practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Excel proficiency.
• CPA preferred.
