Senior Cyber Security Analyst Opportunity Overview
The Senior Cyber Security Analystfor Banner Bank is responsible for IT Security controls, including the development, implementation, documentation of proper security controls that mitigate threats to IT assets. Ensure the support and technical delivery model is cost-effective and has the proper controls to mitigate business and system risks. Perform risk assessments and analysis; document information security events. Manage, configure, and monitor various security tolls. Perform intrusion detection and incident response. Investigate, track, and conclude security incidents within the network, including hack attempts from, or to, enterprise computers. Responsible for educating end-users and IT staff on computer and network security.
As a Senior Cyber Security Analystfor Banner Bank, you will have the opportunity to:
• Plan coordinate, direct, and design security systems intended for the production environment. Develop plans to ensure that new technology and capacity requirements are maintained to facilitate company growth. Lead the computer-related investigations at the request of the Information Security Manager.
• Responsible for ensuring support and technical delivery model is cost-effective and has the proper controls to mitigate business and system risk. Lead, develop, manage, and configure appliance and software security protection tools. Develop and install tools to monitor the network for suspicious activity.
• Responsible for responding to reported security violations received from all users and business units and leads resolution. Investigate validity of all reported security violations – check appropriate logs, attempt to duplicate security violations. Follow up with affected users regarding the causes of security violations incidents. Document security incidents for the enterprise’s records. Respond to the functional units regarding the security incidents per the guidelines of the company.
• Monitor use of data files and regulates access following established procedures to safeguard information computer files. Modify environment to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status. Monitor current reports of computer viruses and malware to determine need to update protection systems. Document computer security and measures, procedures and tests.
• Perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures. Interface with user community to understand security needs and implement approved procedures to accommodate the identified needs. Ensure understanding and adherence to the necessary procedures to maintain security.
• Responsible for enforcing the enterprise’s information security policies and ensuring the company complies with all requirement placed on it in accordance with GLBA. Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes.
• Responsible for making recommendations to senior management regarding the design and management the Bank’s information security policies and procedures.
• Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations relative to IT Security.
Travel: Overnight travel as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
Experience
• 5 or more years of experience in Information Technology required
• 3 or more years of experience in banking of financial services with substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications and outsource systems required
• 3 or more years of experience with Active Directory support
Required Skills
• Possess a working knowledge of security technologies (encryption, data protection, design, privilege access, etc.), LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, Windows DNS and DHCP, group policy management and OU provisioning and permissions, and computer systems' characteristics, features, and common weaknesses.
• Ability to successfully interface with department managers, vendors, consultants, and regulators; provide security consulting services to meet business objectives.
• Advanced knowledge of security controls and risk mitigation strategies required to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and client information. Working knowledge of Information Security principles such as identity management, least privilege, risk management, and segregation of duties. Ability to apply new concepts to solve complex challenges with data and systems integrations.
• Ability to perform hands-on execution risk assessment processes to maintain oversight of business line compliance with numerous regulations and control requirements. Ability lead and manage projects to on-time completion with proper documentation of business and security requirements. Ability to develop scripting experience in a programming language.
• Ability to lead risk assessments and testing of data processing systems to ensure activities and security measures are in place to prevent sensitive data loss. Ability to lead in routine security audits in all environments ensuring that all users are appropriately equipped for their work function.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations relative to IT Information Security.
