Opportunity Overview
Responsibility Summary:
This individual is responsible for delivering functional results through system design of processes, workflows, and controls through the integration of technology and people. Functional responsibilities include:
•Responsible for the performance of a business solution team that analyzes business problems, designs, codes, tests and implements business technology solutions using a variety of tools such as Aurea/Savvion BPM, Apex, Pentaho, Hadoop, and Microsoft tools
•Plans, directs, and manages the activities of the team to ensure the team meets business needs by providing timely, effective business technology solutions
•Ensures that the Firm wide Reconciliation tool is available and accurate 24 x 7
•Ensures that development and support of the solutions are done following Firm and industry standards, following SDLC controls and methodology
•Establishes and maintains effective communications and relationships across Divisions, teams, business areas, and vendors.
•Aligns team activities and responsibilities with the firm’s strategic direction
•Develops and executes on-going improvements to all processes related to team as well as department opportunities (e.g. software distribution process, systems support for users )
•Provides leadership, development, and mentoring to associates through examples and timely feedback.
•Provides technical guidance to associates when new systems need to be developed
•Ensures solutions developed by team are critical to the business and are supported and monitored 24 x 7, to ensure accuracy and availability
•Ensures team is meeting deadlines and goals and develops accurate solutions with benefits
•Collaborate with other team members to ensure the best solution is designed and developed to meet the business need
•Ensures team has established guidelines and works with other IT areas to verify guidelines are being met
•Develops successors for key positions on their team
Position Requirements
Qualifications Required in the Job:
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or Engineering preferred or equivalent related work experience.
•Series 7 and 66 required within 12 months of start date for US leaders.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to Information Systems technology with at least 1 year in a leadership role (mentoring associates, lead analyst, project leaders, etc.) preferred.
•Working knowledge of the following tools/technologies: Java, JavaScripting, SQL, Focus Reporting tools, APEX/Access Workflow Tools, Hadoop, Pentaho, Business Process Modeling etc.
•Strong knowledge of database structure including Oracle, DB2 and IDMS
•Strong ability to set goals for team of associates to deliver results quickly and effectively.
•Required understanding of technologies related to or dependent on the team’s systems.
•Detailed understanding of system development methodologies and processes within IS (change management, QA, PLC, etc.)
•Process oriented; skilled in establishing and executing plans; able to establish metrics and monitor progress
•Excellent interpersonal skills; develops relationships; seen as credible and trustworthy. Able to communicate (written and verbal) effectively
•Manages and develops self while internalizing leadership feedback.
•Must be able to effectively communicate to businesses, vendors, associates, and leaders.
•Able to communicate in a succient manner, verbally and in writing.
•Fosters open communication by listening to others.
