Opportunity Overview
Division: Operations
Department: Reconciliation Control
•Leader of a team of associates who reconcile securities in order to identify and help resolve exceptions and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
•Accountable for associate development and performance as well as business results of the team.
•Deliver functional results through the systematic design of processes, workflows, and controls through the integration of technology and people.
•Leverage reconciliation software to improve the accuracy and timelines of exception reports.
•Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (other areas in the firm, clients, vendors, and industry organizations) impacted by the functions of the team.
•Investigate issues and implement solutions to resolve issues regarding processes, systems, products, regulation, data collection, data quality, resource allocation, controls, and costs.
•Interpret and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory rules and regulations.
Position Requirements
Requires a seasoned leader that would manage a team with high financial risk, need to understand controls, reconciliations, core books and records and identify risk and risk opportunities
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Concentration in business, accounting, finance or management is preferred, but other concentrations will be considered.
•Series 99 required within 90 days; Series 7 and 66 required within 12 months of start date.
•Two or more years financial services industry or accounting experience, with operations experience strongly preferred. Two or more years management experience also strongly preferred.
•Learn and understand the team and department functions, processes, and/or systems within 12 months of hire.
•Strong collaboration, problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
•Proactively identify risks and design and implement effective controls to mitigate risks.
•Collaborate and influence decision making on technology initiatives and/or projects.
•Ability to effectively communicate, lead a team and manage relationships with others based in multiple locations.
