This position supports the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions and initiatives.
The Actuarial Liaison will function as a liaison between the actuarial teams and the controller’s group. The candidate must have excellent organization and communication skills. The candidate will also be involved in special projects that could include developing new processes and problem-solving specific trouble points.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:
• Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure accurate reporting timelines and agreed upon deliverables.
• Quickly develop relationships with various internal and external departments and key contacts.
• Contribute effectively to team meetings and a productive team environment.
• Meet rigid reporting deadlines set by corporate management and internal management.
• Automate various functions and processes related to monthly close duties whenever possible. Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline workflow, increase efficiency and develop controls to ensure the accuracy of data.
• Maintain accurate and well-documented work papers that support all work produced.
• Complete Ad Hoc projects as requested.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• 2-5 years of experience in a (re)insurance company
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or mathematics
• ASA
• CPA preferred
• Experience with Property Casualty lines of business.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft office
• Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines and to handle competing priorities effectively.
