Develop and execute cost effective, quality marketing strategy and plans to contribute to the profitability and growth of a product or product grouping.
Essential Job Functions:
• Plan, staff, direct and control the department activities including authority for all personnel management decisions, budgeting and expense control, determining the most effective staffing levels and scope of employee responsibility, developing subordinates and ensuring the hiring and development of qualified protected class members in compliance with Corporate Affirmative Action guidelines. Work with management in divisions involved in the product process to ensure that clear lines of authority and accountability are established for all associates, especially those associates working in positions with dual accountability to both product and functional divisions.
• Develop financial and non-financial product marketing objectives including market share and sales forecasts. Develop detailed marketing plans/strategies related to positioning, pricing, distribution, and service to achieve product objectives.
• Define target market and identify needs and demands. Champion the marketing campaign and provide appropriate communication to business partners.
• Determine the product's competitive positioning and identify opportunities. Assess market environment, including internal and competitor strengths/weaknesses. Monitor competitors campaign activity. Integrate information on competitive positioning, marketing and regulatory requirements and industry trends to analyze opportunities. Recommend courses of action upon assessing and evaluating risk.
• Participate in the product development process including participating in Integrated Marketing Teams, providing input on product and pricing levels, development of product and/or market specifications. Participate in development of marketing-related content of opportunity assessment, business case and detailed design as well as continuous monitoring of project status to ensure the objectives of the marketing strategy are being met.
• Develop detailed marketing/advertising plan, costs and schedule. Review detailed product design against detailed marketing and advertising plan, finalize and implement marketing/campaign management strategy. Review, evaluate, approve and ensure compliance of marketing materials(which may include illustrations) and program options. Review marketing materials and campaign strategies with internal and external business partners for input.
• Define training strategy and plan for product introduction and ongoing product management. Provide oversight and direction in development of detailed training plan and materials. Conduct product training as necessary.
• Assess impact of compliance projects on marketing activities and product.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Relevant formal education and extensive experience in marketing, including advertising experience.
• Ability to supervise and develop a diverse staff in order to meet Corporate Objectives.
• Expertise in marketing strategic plan design.
• Excellent analytical, writing and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication, human relations, management and leadership skills.
• Ability to analyze, synthesize and retain an extensive volume of information on a large number of issues.
• Creativity.
• Knowledge and experience related to product development.
• Experience developing product training strategy.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting insurance agents & brokers
• Experience working with the Medicare Marketing Guidelines
• Experience with Medicare products such as Medicare Advantage and/or Prescription Drug Plans
• Knowledge of Medicare enrollment periods
• Experience with healthcare or health insurance sector
• Thorough understanding of the Companies' products, marketing philosophies and insurance industry
