The Senior Vice President, Agency Distribution will provide leadership and oversight for executing the strategy that drives sales across a shared agency distribution function for the Individual Division and Ameritas Investment Corp (AIC). The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the established vision and strategic imperatives to increase new sales volume while ensuring current and long-range profitability and growth. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and broad direction for the Distribution organization by creating a compelling vision, executing the strategic direction, building implementation plans, supporting sales, recruiting new agents, and serving as a subject matter expert.
The Senior Vice President, Agency Distribution will be a key leader in impacting this strategy across the shared distribution function.
Essential Functions
Leadership
• Responsible for working with Senior Officers in Individual and AIC to assure short and long-term results and member value.
• Responsible for ensuring the coordination of the operation of the core distribution within the Individual Division, Retirement Plans and AIC with other businesses of Ameritas.
Strategic Growth
• Accountable for sales growth through effective agency business development, relationship management, and both agency and sales development
• Capitalizes on opportunities through development of existing agents in attracting additional producers/agents or groups of agents/producers.
• Oversight for prospecting, recruiting and contracting all new core agencies and defining selling relationships in line with business plan and initiatives.
Financial Results
• Direct accountability for achieving annual sales targets across business lines.
• Responsible for providing recommendations in the area of Individual, Retirement Plans and AIC that maximize Ameritas' competitive position and profitability. This includes directing planning, analysis of competitors' programs, product and compensation design, distribution expansion, target markets, expense management and consumer research and marketing.
• Responsible for ensuring that distribution expansion is within appropriate quality and profitability standards so as to provide an ongoing revenue stream acceptable to the enterprise and consistent with the desired growth.
• Responsible for marketing campaigns that support Distribution target markets
Collaboration
• Leads a diverse team of Home Office and Field force through consultation, clear communication, and setting expectations related to Company Vision, Strategy and Goals.
• Works closely with others to determine current and future distribution, service, product, policies and procedures that meet the needs of business partner.
• Establishes the direction for consistent dialogue with Agents to monitor changing needs and to monitor relationships.
Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Possession of an MBA and/or FINRA registrations 7, 66, 24, 4, 53 is a plus.
• 15+ years of agency distribution experience within the industry is required. 5+ years' experience of increasing responsibility in management or leadership.
• outstanding management abilities and demonstrated sales leadership skills
• Strong experience developing and articulating an aligned strategic direction, manage to tight lines of accountability, and be able to recruit and develop strong future management in all areas required
• Strong negotiating ability, and a very high level of interpersonal and communication skills required
• Organizational leadership and effective communication and human relations skills are required.
• Understanding of life, annuity, and wealth management insurance products required.
• Past experience managing an independent agent sales force working in a "mixed distribution model" consisting of Brokers, General Agents and boutique/RIA's.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to grow sales and profitability.
