Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for managing a large and complex portfolio of Corporate Banking relationships comprised of 3 to 5 Corporate Banking Offices. Average loan size of $3MM to $20MM within assigned geographical region. Leads and manages Corporate Banking Managers and Regional Credit Directors to successfully grow revenue by attracting new business relationships as well as retain/expand existing client relationships. Attract and retain key talent to ensure business objectives are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead, manage and grow Corporate Banking Offices within assigned geographic region.
• Lead and manage Corporate Banking Directors.
• Lead and manage Regional Credit Director to streamline and improve credit process within region.
• Responsible for Corporate Banking loan portfolio for assigned geographical region with average loan size of $3MM to $20MM, depending upon market.
• Identifies, hires, manage performance, motivates and retains key talent.
• Responsible for P&L of region, establishing production goals and strategies to succeed.
• Communicates the Bank's vision, strategy and priorities for execution.
• Target full banking relationships for new and existing clients.
• Partner with marketing resources, treasury management services, Private/Wealth advisors and other product/service providers within the bank to maximize revenue growth.
• Establishes strong client relationships with some of the most complex clients and key principles to form deep relationships and obtain trust.
• Identify appropriate client and community events to participate and function as the "face" of the bank in the region.
• Develop increased participation of Corporate Banking Managers in the respective community/region by being involved in regional organizations and board memberships to function as the "face" of the bank in the respective market.
• Manages and maintains credit quality standards.
• Creates, manages and maintains controls to ensure the highest quality standards in regard to account management (past due loans) and timely follow-up.
• Achieves outstanding credit exams.
• Grants credit within approved guidelines.
• Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities -- knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
• Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
• May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
• Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 5-9 employees
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Bachelor's degree in the field of Business, Accounting, Finance, or related fields required.
• Master's degree in the field of Business, Accounting, Finance, or related fields preferred.
• 8+ years of retail, commercial, corporate, or treasury management banking/lending experience.
• 8+ years of experience managing a team and dealing effectively with employee and customer relation issues.
• Advanced knowledge of respective business line - which may include financial planning, asset management, brokerage services, investments, and cash management.
• Proven record of budget and sales goal accomplishments.
• Extensive experience with Umpqua's policies and methods of operation.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced interpersonal, leadership, and management skills. Ability to motivate a sales team to achieve goals.
• Proven ability to develop relationships internally and externally. Must demonstrate the ability to influence change and obtain commitment.
• Proven ability to prospect, plan selling strategies, and make cold calls.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
• Office environment -- no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.
• Frequent travel.
