Job Description
Everest National Insurance Company, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd, has an opportunity available for a Project Manager to join the Everest Insurance Project Management Office team in the Liberty Corner, NJ headquarters office (exit 33 off I-78).
The Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations, Project Management and work collaboratively with all departments to analyze and document business processes and operational procedures, support continuous improvement, and perform all business analysis activities across five principal domains: needs assessment, analysis and planning, requirements gathering and analysis, process design and monitoring, and solution evaluation.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct needs assessments in order to analyze a current business problem, project or opportunity
• Identify constraints, assumptions and risks, conduct cost benefit analysis, present business case
• Identify and interview stakeholders, perform root cause analysis, gather benchmarking data
• Elicit business requirements through multiple processes to identify/define the business need, evaluate requirements and desired outcomes, analyze gaps between current and future state, and recommend solutions
• Facilitate the translation of business needs into complete, precise, unambiguous, measurable, and traceable business requirements
• Conduct requirements walkthrough, inspection, and approval sessions
• Escalate questions and issues to PMO
• Play a key role in defining the level of effort required for project activities and deliverables
• Identify instances where a resource may be over-allocated or lacking
• Collaborate with developers and SMEs to establish the technical vision, analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs, and gather information to meet requests within the area of responsibility
• Develop test plans and use cases, and oversee testing efforts
• Work closely with PMO with respect to scope or change requests – assess, document, and communicate impact of change to internal and external stakeholders
• For assigned projects, identify training requirements, support the development of training materials, and participate in training efforts as required
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives by assessing alignment of current process, programs, and systems to business requirements, and by recognizing opportunities for standardization, increased efficiency, cost reduction, increased quality, and improved user experience
Job Qualifications
• Ideally 5 – 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst on projects that cross the spectrum of project types, e.g. vendor software implementation, custom software development, operations process improvements, etc.
• Demonstrated familiarity with needs analysis, best practices procedures, requirements management methodology, and active listening
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, or equivalent Project Management tools
• Project Management Professional, Business Analyst and Six Sigma certification not required but a plus (PMP, MBB, BB, PMI-PBA, CBAP, CCBA, etc.)
• Experience with industry standard policy administration systems
• Previous work experience with a commercial Property and Casualty Insurance carrier or agency is highly desirable
• Ability to work constructively in a team environment as well as independently
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including influencing and negotiation skills
