Responsibilities:
• Analyze the credit risk of the designated portfolio, determine accurate ratings and make recommendation of accurate and timely ratings to managers and management.
• Modeling skills required for both credit application process and Quarterly Credit Watch presentations.
• Perform due diligence, regularly schedule reviews and detailed credit analysis.
• Prepare credit applications and credit rating applications, and obtain approvals by working directly with Relation Managers (RMs) and senior credit analysts.
• Oversight of covenants compliance database and facility closing due diligence, including documentation.
• Participate in the policy development in committees, project teams, or transaction discussions with Senior Credit Officers.
• Support Managing Director/Department Head and Associate/Team Leader in credit risk management by providing junior analyst with necessary advises and consultation on OJT basis; developing and enhancing analytical skills of the team through close communication with related divisions such as CEA, CDA, Credit Policy Office and other Credit Divisions; and assisting internal and external exams conducted by CEA, FED, FSA and other authorities.
• Prepare credit review reports for adverse credits for the purpose of tracking and reporting up-to-date conditions of such credits to management and relevant credit divisions.
• Perform credit control and portfolio management responsibility as assigned by management or Managing Director/Department Head, including attendance to bank meeting and customer calls as necessary; assistance to RMs with federal, state and internal audits; self-asset evaluations and assessment procedures; preparation of call memos; and ensuring compliance with external regulatory requirement and Internal Bank policy and procedural requirements.
• Responsible for expanding knowledge of particular industries and for proactive coordination with execution team and Loan Transaction Unit for proper booking of newly assigned accounts.
• Gather, review and analyze critical account information from all available sources by communicating and coordinating with all related divisions in order to make accurate assessment or judging of the customer's financial condition and ability to fulfill debt obligations.
• Obtain and maintain full understanding of the Bank's internal credit policies, procedures and guidelines:
• Supporting the Senior Credit Officer, communicate with RMs and Portfolio Managers to resolve issues to ensure transaction requests are acceptable within the risk appetite of the firm.
• Advise on appropriate exposure level in the context of guidelines for transaction and group level exposure.
• Ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal policy and procedural requirements
Qualifications
• 3+ years of working experience in financial institutions or equivalent in credit and risk related function analyzing general corporate customers.
• 3+ years’ experience in credit and risk management capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of general corporate credit analysis, credit and risk management is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and modeling skills.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• CFA Charter is a plus.
• Previous experience analyzing corporate credit and financing transactions is required.
• Experience with leveraged finance transactions is a plus.
