Description
The Disability Claims Manager is responsible for the calculation of Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefits according to relevant Plan Provisions. This position requires the knowledge and understanding of LTD policies and procedures and to appropriately calculate the LTD benefits due while managing the duration of a disability absence. You will be expected to follow through timely on plans and utilize judgment and assesses risk when rendering claim decisions. Additional responsibilities include:
• Document all claim information including phone calls and correspondence
• Utilize effective communication to obtain information both verbally and in writing, providing information to both the claimant and employer
• Ability to apply plan provisions
• Manages the needs of the clients
• May coach new associates
• Performs other duties as assigned
This position may be located in our Portland ME, Dresher PA, Roseland NJ offices or virtual.
Qualifications
• College degree is a plus
• A minimum of 2 years of disability claim experience is required, preferably with LTD
• Strong written and verbal communications required
• Proficiency in PC-based programs such as Word and Excel
• Strong mathematical skills desired
• Detailed-oriented with strong time management skills is expected
