Job Description:
The Analytics Manager will lead R&D efforts to build state-of-the-art analytics for digital marketing and partner management in Discover. This is a mission critical role and the individual will be responsible for developing analytical framework, methodologies and products to develop best-in-class Omni-Channel experience. This position acts as subject matter expert in cross-channel and consumer behavioral analytics by providing advice to senior management, analytical leadership team and internal/external business partners on the effective use of online/offline data and analytical methodologies, particularly those related to campaign measurement & channel optimization in digital space, advanced modeling techniques for better targeting, machine learning & Big Data application.
Responsibilities:
• Apply Hadoop/AWS BIG DATA skills to build & scale Hadoop/AWS BIG DATA platform across marketing analytics organization by building and implementing used cases that drives significant business impact and financial value to marketing organization.
• Implement CRM strategies to identify customers product & channel preferences and reinforce learning to optimize targeting
• Understand and manage our research, methodology development, algorithm/recommender processes & external vendors with a vision to establish a research center of excellence within digital marketing
• Develop, maintain & enhance rigorous targeting mechanisms for major programs/campaigns in digital marketing/partner marketing areas
• Lead development and implementation of advanced analytics including behavioral profiling, anticipatory profiling, offer optimization, predictive modeling, digital attribution and machine learning algorithm. Periodically evaluate performance of campaigns, algorithm and analytical tools, explain industry trends of digital marketing analytics, and make strategic recommendations to strengthen analytical leadership & improve campaign efficiency
• Utilize various software applications such as spreadsheet, relational databases, web analytical tools, statistical & BI packages to study card members online/offline behavior, develop algorithms/profiles that translate research results into fully functional analytical products and assist in implementation
• Present high-quality, persuasive deliverables to upper management & communicate analytical counterparts in outside vendors
Skills:
• Bachelors or Masters Degree and above in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related quantitative is a must
• Bachelors Degree with 7+ years Or Masters Degree with 5+ years of deep analytical experience in digital marketing with strong expertise in quantitative/qualitative methodologies of marketing analytics, web analytics, machine learning and/or computational advertising.
• Prior experience of digital channel & CRM (Customer relationship Management) with Marketing Agencies/Media Network or Digital Marketplace will be a huge plus. Exposure to digital data, cross-channel analytics & attribution techniques and real time decision is highly preferred.
• Must have the proven ability to drive business results with data based approaches and have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large datasets.
• Strong hands on and efficient programming skills using SQL, SAS or similar statistical packages are a must. Experience with Hadoop platform, Spark, Hive, R, Python, Java, Tableau a big plus
• Strong hands on experience in predictive modeling & advanced analytical techniques like Bayesian Probability, Time Series Analysis & Forecasting, Action-Effect Modeling, Survival Analysis etc will be highly preferred.
• Demonstrated exploration of new techniques, technologies outside of day-to-day job duties
• Ability to work in a cross functional efforts, matrix environment or work independently with minimal supervision, proactive and express leadership in analytical innovation and problem solving techniques. Ability to leverage critical thinking and analytical skills to improve business outcomes
• Strong business acumen, with excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal & influencing skills to stakeholders & senior management. Should have demonstrated strong temperament & ability to adapt to changing priorities or deliverables
