The Lead QA Analyst role is responsible for leading a team that drives and executes the strategy for technology advances in CME’s electronic trading platform. This individual is responsible for leading projects for systems that must achieve a unique blend of ultra-low latency performance, the capacity to seamlessly facilitate the busiest trading days in the world economy, and rock-solid reliability and integrity, all while undergoing rapid release cycles. Achieving these goals will require an understanding of both the underlying technology and the development, testing, and deployment lifecycle of the applications. The candidate must be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and possess the ability to lead others to achieve the critical mission of the team.
50-70% of the position is: Leading test strategy, leading liaison efforts with development teams, and helping with long term initiatives, mentoring, and dividing up testing work amongst senior and mid-level qa individuals.
30% - QA Testing, Test Cases, Troubleshooting
Principal Accountabilities
• Communicate with a wide audience spanning both internal and external teams.
• Ensure that the team is complying with the SDLC process
• Execute responsibilities in addition to providing oversight and planning activities, including ownership of a project's test strategy
• Identify efficiency opportunities while also exploring innovation and means of implementing new technology/processes.
• Mentor and groom team members by demonstrating/modeling how a mentee might develop greater initiative, increased independence, and self-reliance.
• Provide domain-level expertise both on the application under test and testing practices.
Skills & Software Requirements
• 10 years + QA Experience
• 2+ years in a Lead QA Capacity
• SQL, Linux/UNIX with some knowledge in Java/C++.
• Core Java environment - exposure to this is a big plus
• 3+ years of Cucumber and Gherkin
• Strong understanding of financial systems, more specifically trading environments
