Equipment Finance Operations (EFO) Section Manager will be responsible for leading a team of colleagues who support the business activities of Huntington Asset Finance, which includes Equipment Finance, Lender Finance, and Huntington Public Capital Corporation ("HAF"). The financial products we support includes loans, capital leases, and true leases. The functions of EFO include setting up financial products in the equipment finance accounting system, validating the quality of system data, adherence to funds movement processes, and ongoing customer servicing of the portfolio, including monetary and non-monetary transaction activity.
Responsibilities will include:
• Manage direct reports in the area with responsibility for all personnel administration functions for these colleagues.
• Lead, assign, and direct workflow across the operation including:
• Review new loan/lease closings to ensure that all material terms are properly reflected in the system of record, InfoLease.
• Employ knowledge of lease accounting rules in calculating and quoting buyout costs for clients for non-tax leases and TRAC products
• Prepare checks and ACH fundings for approval or requests wire transfer fundings in accordance with funds movement processes, procedures and controls.
• Execute disposals for payoffs or matured contracts with no balance remaining.
• Perform ongoing servicing, including ensuring that UCC filings are kept current, mid-stream events (such as renewals, deferrals and progress pay conversions) are updated in the system of record, research and post rejected lockbox payments and payments received directly by EFO, and ensure that all documents are imaged to Filenet on a timely basis.
• Assist in the onboarding of new customers to Huntington's Business Online commercial banking portal.
• Manage and report on:
◦ Cashier checks, presentment bonds, escrow accounts and execute rate maintenance.
◦ Presentment Bond calendar, ensuring that all Presentment Bonds are sent to paying agents in time for payment to be received prior to or on due date or maturity.
◦ Escrow Accounts, ensuring that upcoming maturities are escalated appropriately
◦ Insurance to clear any open insurance items.
◦ Reconciliation of cashier checks
◦ Prepare manual invoices for high profile customers, review and decision Over Paid and Late Charge Waiver reports, prepare and upload GL files, process Sale-side syndications and other syndication activities, i.e., fundings, FX loans, wires to investors, complete charge-offs, writedowns and non-accrual processing
◦ Answer questions from internal business partners and external customers
• Provide personal property asset location information to Corporate Tax and monitor filing accuracy when invoicing EFO customers
• Leads and ensures the administration of operational and regulatory risk strategy programs for the area
• Direct self-monitoring and testing activities to ensure they are performed in accordance with Corporate Risk Management requirements.
• Assist in measuring the productivity, efficiency and accuracy of the work produced by the team.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers while providing exemplary customer service.
• Exert influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the area.
• Manage creation and review of all procedures, process maps, and job aides, including annual reviews of each.
• Perform Quality Review of General Ledger files
• Partner closely with Corporate Tax team, Information Technology team, Corporate Reconcilement, and Business Segment Controllers to identify, escalate and/or resolve exception items within prescribed timeframes. Apply appropriate judgment for escalation process.
• Represent direct manager/team in meetings
• Lead high profile/special projects
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of Asset Finance, Commercial Banking, Finance, Operations Management
