Development Manager:
We are searching for a Development Manager responsible for leading Southern California value add & development activities with a seed portfolio of over $1 Billion underway and in the pipeline on behalf of a national institutional Real Estate Advisor with $20B in AUM. Reporting to head of Western US.
Oversee the portfolio in the following areas:
• Direct project management of projects, including design, construction and close-out and leasing support and oversight;
• Feasibility and financial analysis of potential development and value-add investments and transactions;
• Oversight of development partners in charge of project execution;
• Assist in managing entitlements of various projects, including both re positioning, rezoning and land entitlements;
• Procuring development team members (developers, architects, engineers, contractors, brokers, etc.) through a competitive process;
• Management of administrative responsibilities such as payment and draw applications and project reporting.
• Analytical skills to evaluate the economic and financial performance of commercial real estate projects (particularly retail, industrial and multifamily). Starting up our West LA office in Marina Del Rey with our Southern California Director of Acquisitions Develop Investment Committee presentations for evaluating opportunities.
Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Business or Engineering strongly preferred. An MBA degree a benefit.
• Proven self starter with leadership skills
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in real estate development project management, asset management and/or real estate finance.
• Ability to manage several medium and large ground-up development projects and major re-development projects simultaneously.
• A strong working knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, scheduling and process as they relate to real estate development projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional manner and computer literacy (MS Office, Argus required)
• Flexibility with work hours and travel to Western HQ office in San Francisco as needed.
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills
