Description
The individual will be an integral part of the GAAP Valuation team within the Individual Annuity Valuation area, which is responsible for reporting and analyzing the risks of the Annuities business. Some key aspects of the individual's role will include performing attribution and sensitivity analysis for GAAP actuarial balances and being able to help explain results as well as supporting high visibility projects. This position also involves problem solving and coming up with solutions for ad-hoc requests. It is a very dynamic team and its functions are critical to the success of individual annuities business.
The individual’s responsibilities may include:
Perform monthly/quarterly/annual Annuities GAAP reporting and analysis
Assist in preparing and presenting results to Annuities senior leaders
Work closely with Annuities Finance, and for GAAP related deliverables
Work closely with and to ensure timely model production runs are performed
Address requests from various corporate functions – Internal Audit, Risk Management, Treasurer, Portfolio Management, Capital Markets Hedging, etc.
Enhancing analytical tools and processes
Ad hoc research and development
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree
• Must have passed at least 1 actuarial exam
• Some experience in annuities is a plus
• Must be well organized
• Ability to work on multiple projects and help resolve conflicting priorities
• Ability to communicate actuarial results to non-actuaries
• Programming Experience in any computer languages is a plus (e.g. Visual Basic, C++, etc.)
• Strong verbal and documentation skills
