Job Description:
At Regions, the Accounting Specialist performs a variety of routine and some non-routine clerical/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable or a related financial area.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provides support to internal and external clients to ensure proper validation of expenses, collect information, solve issues, and ensure internal requests are addressed effectively.
• Reconciles bank accounts, balance general or subsidiary ledgers, and process payments.
• Researches and resolves discrepancies using accounting systems.
• Compiles segments of monthly closings, annual reports, adhoc reports, etc.
• Develops and maintains reports and files for accounts payable processing.
• Adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company guidelines.
• Work is prescribed and completed with little autonomy
• Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined procedures
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime under the non-exempt FLSA classification for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED
• One year of basic accounting, administrative, or related experience
Skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft office products
• Data Entry skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to multi-task and complete work in a timely manner
Preferences
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field
