Job Summary:
The Principal, Practice Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing tax services with their Practice area. The Practice Leader is held accountable for the profitability of the Practice and monitoring the financial statements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops and executes tax consulting projects.
• Develops new client relationships and works with Ryan global management team to expand the Practice to other markets
• Works within the Practice to develop new tax planning ideas to deliver to global clients
• Supervises consulting work delegated to staff and managers
• Routinely makes presentations to prospects and clients
• Serves as subject matter expert for Practice area throughout Firm and assigned jurisdictions/geographical areas
• Assists in the general operation and administration of the Practice
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance required; a minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience in Practice specialization; previous track record of excellent service delivery and working in a team environment.
Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly or indirectly supervises employees in the Practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws.
Work Environment:
• Standard indoor working environment.
• Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 lbs.
• Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
• Independent travel requirement: 30 to 50%.
• 50+ hour standard workweek requirement.
