Overview
Our client, a family owned business in Newburgh, NY, is seeking a Bookkeeper/Finance professional to execute the organization’s bookkeeping and accounting functions.
Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping demonstrating a good working knowledge of maintaining general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, ach and wire transfer and bank reconciliations. Must be a good communicator and able to work effectively with vendors, customers, and collections.
Essential Duties
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of day to day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in accordance to GAAP.
• In Charge of Collections for All Customers on a daily basis
• Reconcile all bank accounts
• Enter accounts receivable invoices and payments
• Enter accounts payable invoices
• Enter Credit Card Information into QuickBooks
• Prepare vendor payments
• Print month end accounts payable and accounts receivable reports
• Prepare journal entries and adjustments
• Prepare cash receipts report
• Prepare bank deposits
• Prepare billing for all customers
• Enter/prepare Quarterly Sales Tax
• Prepare tax reports
• Prepare, maintain, and file accounting documents and records
• Research, track, and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Processing Payroll with vendor ADP
• Answering employee staff questions for HR purposes
• Handling employee staff confidential information with privacy and care for HR purposes
• Assisting Office Manager with HR duties
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years’ work experience in a bookkeeping/accounting function.
• Strong QuickBooks skills, including all normal accounting transactions, GL management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Experience working in 3rd party Association Management tool (income) a plus.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience going through a financial audit.
• Attention to detail, strong communication, and problem solving are all critical skills for success in this role.
