Job Description
We are seeking a talented Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Division in Newport Beach, CA. The Corporate Division supports the goals and initiatives of all other divisions throughout the company and its subsidiaries. These departments include: Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Development, Public Affairs, Safety & Security, Legal & Compliance.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist in the development and execution of our annual budget (Corporate Division & Enterprise Wide) and internal management reporting, including variance & driver analysis.
• Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of our budget vs. actuals (both for Corporate division as well as enterprise-wide reporting) as well as tracking results vs. forecast to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan
• Leverage technology to help enhance and drive efficiencies
• Develop templates and models to enhance existing reporting as well as to support budget users
• Train budget users and cost center owners how to better leverage the system and tools
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and management reports as requested by senior management
• Work with senior management on various initiatives, such as ad hoc expense / management analysis
• Develop & Maintain strong relationships with our divisional personnel to ensure we can adapt our product-suite to meet their needs.
• Leverage technology to help enhance and drive efficiencies
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred
• 5+ years of related financial planning and analysis experience
• Strong technological skills, including a strong understanding of Hyperion Planning, Smartview, and HFM
• Demonstrated analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to innovate and leverage technology for efficiencies and enhanced analytics, etc.
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office products; strong Hyperion/System, PowerPoint and Excel skills is a must, Peoplesoft experience a plus
• Proven ability to identify process improvements and innovate
• Ability to work independently on assignments of various levels of complexity
• Ability to leverage and understand complex financial models
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills and the ability to collaborate with others to effectively solve problems
