Zurich North America is currently seeking an individual to join the Claims Operations team. This role will be aligned to the Property claims line of business.
As a Claims Operations Consultant, you will identify continuous improvement opportunities that increase the efficiencies and capabilities, as well as the standards and best practices of the Property claims organization. You will develop, design, coordinate, evaluate and implement operational, administrative and technical claim programs and workflows which support standards of excellence. You will also be accountable for providing support to the line of business on reporting requirements to internal business partners.
This is an opportunity that will combine your claims handling subject matter expertise and knowledge of the commercial property marketplace with your skills in workflow design and analysis, data analysis and reporting. You will also help develop innovative workflows and solutions that contribute to a higher level of customer experience in the property line of business.
Other accountabilities include:
• Oversees the development and participation, as needed, in Operational Review and Evaluations (ORE) and self-audits, and provides reports and recommendations to management
• Acts as a liaison within the claims organization and across functional business groups to identify and execute on initiatives that enhance organizational and system performance
• Serves as liaison to line of business directors to assist with implementation of global claim division policies and establish criteria for benchmarks for best practices
• Uses strong technical, organizational and operational knowledge to direct all aspects of projects
• Serves as liaison to all business units on projects needing claim operations expertise
This position will be located in Schaumburg.
You may eventually have the ability to participate in flex work arrangements.
Approximately 10% business travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims area
OR
• Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims area
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims area
AND
• 6 or more years of administrative and/or operational experience
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Project management experience
• Experience with Business Intelligence/CDW or similar data system(s)
Preferred Qualifications:
• 4 or more years of experience in a home office administrative and/or operational environment
• Experience in property claims handling
• Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies used in insurance business processes and transaction processing
• Knowledge of tools, concepts, methodologies and techniques used in business process reengineering, change management, continuous improvement
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to provide expertise and provide guidance to team members and business partners
• Ability to interact with multiple levels of management
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships
• Strong Analysis and problem solving skills
