Job Title: CSR/Teller
Reports To: Branch Manager
Working Conditions: Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions

Primary Purpose: (Summary of major reason this job exists)
Performs customer services, such as opening new accounts, establishing direct deposit accounts, opening retirement accounts and assisting customers with queries concerning bank services. Responsible for development of new business relationships and maintaining existing relationships.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned)
• Performs complete range of customer services including opening new accounts, explaining available products and services, and gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts.
• Prepares account paperwork, receives new account deposits and ensures that all accounts are properly processed.
• Establishes retirement accounts and makes arrangements for direct deposits.
• Completes arrangements and documents for special services such as bond collections and exchanges of foreign currency.
• Proactively seeks prospects for new business.
• Actively refers other lines of business to appropriate specialists.
• Responsible for prompt and efficient customer transactions.
• Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement and enters deposits into computer system.
• Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of customer’s signatures and balances.
• Promotes and explains other BancorpSouth products such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, certificate of deposits, debit cards and credit cards.
• Counts, checks and packages coins and currency.
• Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer-generated sheet and reports any discrepancies to the Head Teller as necessary.
• Represents the bank in community affairs and civic organizations.
• Performs additional duties as required.
Job Specifications: (Knowledge, skills, and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job)
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of in-house training program or other approved training program.
• A minimum of three years New Accounts and Teller experience.
• Sales experience, particularly in cross-marketing products and services.
• Excellent sales, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good understanding of BancorpSouth’s products and services.
• Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to learn company system.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
