Vanguard is seeking a Leadership Development Senior Manager to drive a high performance culture across the global enterprise by influencing world-class leadership practices and operationalizing them through HR and business partnerships. To supply the organization with the leadership talent it needs by implementing a holistic leadership development strategy, inclusive of experiences, feedback and coaching, and the deployment of world-class leader learning portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage staff, creating a strong team atmosphere. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and provide guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. Hire, evaluate and counsel personnel. Follow corporate performance management procedures per established Vanguard standards as required. Set performance standards, review performance, provide feedback, and recommend wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resource policies and procedures.
2. Act as Global Process Owner for Leadership and Performance Development, maintaining accountability to advance global processes, operating model, technology, and data governance.
3. Develop and advance the Leadership Development strategy from aspiring leaders through executives, partnering with HRBP’s, other key stakeholders in HR and business leaders, to achieve desired HR outcomes around talent supply and crew experience (e.g. attrition rates, crew’s views, etc.). Build, maintain, and continually advance the global Leadership Development offer, inclusive of learning programs, performance support tools, assessment solutions, mentoring programs, and new innovations to build capabilities in leaders.
4. Drive Team Effectiveness across the organization by developing and implementing a common framework, complete with a scalable tiered offer inclusive of assessment, development, and maintenance tools for team leaders through Executives.
5. Monitor and analyze effectiveness metrics for all solutions, and make fiscally responsible recommendations to drive improvements to enhance value and sustainability.
6. Partner closely across the Talent Development team, in addition to HR CoE’s to ensure all work is prioritized appropriately, and has alignment to OneHR objectives.
7. Provide a suite of Executive Development solutions, inclusive of internal and external offers, to the Succession Management team to ensure meaningful progression towards future roles.
8. Provide a suite of High Potential development solutions, inclusive of internal and external offers, assessments, custom coaching plans, and programming to ensure acceleration through the pipeline.
9. Partner with Regional HR teams to expand solutions and ensure all offers are effective regionally.
10. Manage the Leadership Development budget in partnership with the Talent Development organization.
11. Manage Vendor relationships with 3rd party Leadership Development supplies while continually assessing and exploring new opportunities.
12. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced degree preferred.
• Eight to ten years progressive management experience with a minimum of three to five years in a senior leadership role.
• Excellent assessment skills and analytical skills.
• Advanced consultative skills.
• An understanding of leadership and organizational development field.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Background in client-focused operations.
• Experience working with senior leadership.
• Experience in the development and implementation of initiatives from strategy through to execution.
• Experience managing and working with teams across locations.
• Experience working in a global organization preferred.
