Wipfli LLPis looking for a Content Manager toplan, develop and execute content strategies for a variety of external and internal platforms, including firm collateral, social and digital channels, website, intranet, multimedia/videos, email marketing campaigns and print and digital advertisements, among others.
Responsibilities
• Lead and facilitate the development of content to support overall brand goals, timely delivery and budget allocations
• Oversee all content development created by internal and external (freelance) writers, including but not limited to: company blog, social media, thought leadership pieces and white papers, emails, public relations messaging, firm collateral, advertisements, press releases and video scripts, among others
• Source and manage internal and external resources, such as subject matter experts, partners, clients and freelance writers
• Serve as lead copywriter and copyeditor on key projects
• Ensure that all print and digital content and communications are consistent with the firm’s brand voice, style and language guidelines
• Provide strategic support and guidance to develop editorial and communications calendars across all platforms (both external and internal) to support the firm’s goals and big-picture content strategies, in collaboration with other members of the team
• Work in tandem with marketing account managers and business developers to arrange the distribution of content and communications to appropriate audiences
• Maintain project plans and workflows throughout the content-development process, and integrate them within the editorial and communications calendars to establish organized, reasonable and efficient timelines
• Review and refine content created by the Copywriting Specialist, Internal Communications Specialist and freelance writers, and provide editorial guidance to ensure said pieces are relevant and aligned with the firm’s brand voice, style and tone
• Inform and train partners, associates and others who submit content on brand best practices and guidelines to ensure complete consistency across all pieces
• Manage time effectively and handle high volumes of work in a deadline-driven environment, delegating, as necessary, to direct reports (Copywriting Specialist and Internal Communications Specialist), freelance writers and proofreading staff
• Collaborate with digital team to: ensure keywords and SEO best practices are accounted for within writing best practices and followed; provide voice, tone and editing direction for social media and email communications; monitor social and digital channels to ensure they are being followed.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the firm’s partners and associates, with the ability to collaborate on content initiatives and strategies to achieve goals
• Develop an innate understanding of the nuances between Wipfli’s various industry and service line offerings and their respective audiences, and ensure this knowledge is shared with all writing resources
• Coordinate closely with the compliance and legal team, when appropriate, to ensure all content and communications adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines
Additional Responsibilities:
• Update and enhance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, attending relevant seminars/conferences and maintaining personal networks
Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications
Specific experience required
Requires excellent writing, editing, communication and analytical skills, with high attention to detail
Understanding of the nuances between various types of communication (internal vs. external, regional vs. national, industry-specific vs. general brand awareness, etc.)
Experience preferred but not required
6+ years of job-related experience
Background in business writing and editing
Experience in developing messaging and ad copy for B2B and B2C marketing campaigns
Abilities:
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively
Ability to balance many projects simultaneously and delegate where appropriate
Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
Ability to interact with high-level managers
Ability to manage direct reports and freelance writers in terms of creative direction and also day-to-day workload
Ability to cultivate and shape writing talent in a way that encourages growth and consistency
Technology
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
Basic knowledge of HTML and SEO, as they relate to blogging
Experience with online project management systems, such as Wrike, Workfront, Slack, Trello, etc.
Additional Skills preferred but not required:
Experience with website management systems
Working knowledge of Prezi, social media platforms and WordPress publishing
