The Portfolio Analyst position works alongside Credit Administration with the objective of providing portfolio visibility. This position is responsible for compiling, tracking, reporting, and analyzing key credit and other data metrics. Additional duties include working on ad hoc projects and ensuring data integrity.
This position has a high degree of interaction with personnel in the Credit Portfolio Reporting Department as well as other various support groups when required. Critical to success in this position is the ability to display a high level of independent problem solving, decision making, prioritization, sense of urgency, quick turnaround, adaptability, implementation skills and the ability to support diverse projects/problems. This position requires a strong understanding of banking concepts, an aptitude to integrate efficiencies with technology and report building used to deliver information and reporting to customers within the bank.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Analytics:
• Preparing and presenting the monthly senior manager Tech Portfolio Review package.
• Reviewing and updating bank-wide concentration reports for accuracy and completeness, incorporating this information into the Tech Portfolio Review Package.
• Developing and maintaining loan grade migration reports and projections.
• Attending and reporting results from credit meetings.
• The above will apply to additional lines of business as they mature, (i.e. Sponsor Finance).
• Develop, implement, and manage line of business and customer sub-segment analysis.
Data Management:
• Work with Credit Administration Officers to ensure loan status changes and grade changes are completed prior to month-end, with a focus on quarter-end reporting.
• Maintain and update Credit Quality Trend Report including upgrades/downgrades, non-accrual, past dues, various criticized loan categories, and Net Charge Off data.
• Assist with month end Assets Quality Reports to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and Manage the Venture Capital database
• Participate in ad hoc project requests
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Accounting; Business Management; Economics; Finance; Statistics, or similar.
• 1-3 years’ experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A, or financial services.
• Expert level skills with Excel and Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
• Knowledge or experience in corporate banking is a plus.
