Job Expectations:
Staff Accountant - Kansas City (Full Time)
A Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for reconciliations, projects and research. The Staff Accountant must:
•Consistently ensure compliance with department and bank policies.
•Attend project meetings to support settlement and reconciliations for new and existing products.
•Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.
•Work on special projects as directed by Senior Management.
•Assist with day-to-day issues and reconciling questions.
•Complete research when needed.
These responsibilities impact business in all markets of Commerce Bank. This includes: reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts, monetary maintenance on customer accounts, monthly adjustments to General Ledger balances, daily settlement and reporting settlement of funds, managing overpayments and escheatment.
Education Required:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other Business related field
Skills Required:
•Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
•Organizational and analytical skills
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to work independently
•Leadership skills
