What You'll Do
The Director, Private Banking National (DPBN) is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the UMB Private Banking organization overseeing the sales efforts for the division, consisting of sales strategy/execution, relationship management and financial planning. The role has management responsibility for the Regional Managers and Private Bankers. This includes oversight, business development, strategic vision, sales management, leadership and regional community representation. Drives financial performance through growth strategies, sales performance, expense efficiencies and budget management.
• Design and implement strategy to increase sales, improve service quality and manage employee performance/development. Strategic objectives are translated into effective tactical operations.
• Establish collaborative partnerships within the UMB footprint focused on internal partnering to accomplish regional and divisional goals in accord with TUCE.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and industry required regulations. Requires compliance with applicable regulations, bank¿s policies and ensures UMB Private Banking sales associates fully comply with regulations.
• Establish sales production goals and objectives.
• Develop and deliver sales planning, coaching and pipeline management.
• Recruit, hire, train and manage Regional Managers- Private Banking.
• Conduct the Performance Management process quarterly and one-on-one meetings with sales force.
• Plan and execute national and regional sales meetings.
• Work closely with Regional and Department leaders of Private Wealth, Consumer Services, and Commercial Banking.
• Enforce UMBFSI, UMB Bank and UMBFC policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
• Bachelors Degree in related area or equivalent experience
• 10+ years relevant experience
• 8 years Management experience
• FINRA Series 7, 24, 66, or ability to achieve within 90 days
Preferred Requirements
• MSRB 52, 53

• Demonstrates excellent knowledge of financial industry regulations
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of investment products
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and train sales people
• Demonstrates ability to handle detailed work with accuracy
• Demonstrates strong PC skills to include MS Word, Excel, email, internet research and software tools
• Demonstrates strong analytical & research skills
• Demonstrates strong presentations skills, including being an excellent listener and the ability to make direct sales presentations
• Demonstrates ability to address customer concerns positively, tactfully, and diplomatically, and must present self very professionally and courteously at all times
• Demonstrates ability to work with all clients & prospects of varied backgrounds & experiences

Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
