Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, responsibilities for this position include the following:
• Oversee Benefits Administration of all domestic health and welfare plans for a population of approximately 2700 employees including project planning, quality assurance, delivery, and required follow-up and evaluation.
• Create employee benefits communications including correspondence to employees, Benefits Handbook, Benefits Statements, and open enrollment materials.
• Supervise a US Benefits Associate.
• Oversee the processing of employee benefits claims issues including logging issues, identifying trends and problems, and working with our insurance broker and carriers to resolve problems.
• Streamline and improve carrier billing processes through ongoing research, analyses, and audits.
• Manage retiree benefits by overseeing medical billing and conducting research and analyses on retiree medical plans and market trends.
• Oversee COBRA notification process including reviewing billing, and monitoring COBRA administrator’s performance and efficiency.
• Review and upgrade the new hire process to continually improve and streamline policies and procedures.
• Ensure ACA compliance.
• Manage Partner’s Giving Fund.
• Manage 401(k) and predecessor firm Pension Plan in partnership with outside vendors and consultants.
• Conceptualize and implement select wellness activities.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• An in-depth understanding of benefits administration and the benefits marketplace.
• Experience in a financial services firm, or a company with a similar environment and pace. Employee population should be ideally 3,000 or more.
• Customer-service approach including the ability to effectively and comfortably interact with senior level management.
• Strong writing skills with a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate benefits plans and changes to employees.
• Prior experience supervising and managing others.
• Experience in streamlining process through the use of technology.
• A natural inclination and interest level in the benefits field, positioned to bring ideas and innovation forward.
