Leads matrixed client project teams through the identification, evaluation, and implementation of multi-faceted client partnerships and provides ongoing support to joint business and organizational initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
The FAS business is constantly evolving in a push to remain competitive and deepen Vanguard’s industry footprint.
A divisional priority for FAS is to establish strategic client partnerships with some of our largest and most influential clients that will ultimately help us to maintain and grow revenue, engender loyalty through a customized client experience, and make a positive contribution to the industry for the end investor.
The Strategic Partnerships Lead joins a new team in a unique role that blends strategy development, project management, and relationship management. The role offers exposure to multiple groups within FAS and across the enterprise and the opportunity to explore new ways for Vanguard to leverage our position and status in the industry.
• Partners with key account sales teams to assess potential partner relationships, develop roadmaps to strategic partnership, and recommend customized investment opportunities to support a differentiated client experience.
• Manages projects or multiple workstreams within a broader project or program. Develops, implements, and monitors project plans. Draws on business acumen to scope, size, and resource program/project initiatives.
• Communicates project status and issues regularly to stakeholders, including leaders, team members, and senior managers.
• Builds and maintains effective relationships. Proactively fosters communication between internal and external project stakeholders. Influences key decisions across stakeholder groups.
• Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks and any related project issues. Communicates solutions on key issues or projects to management and stakeholders to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate.
• Provides ongoing oversight and support for established client partnerships. Identifies, evaluates, and escalates new potential initiatives that can further advance health of relationship.
• Contributes to the development of a future state staffing and operating model to support client partnership activities.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of five years business experience, including relevant experience in strategy and project leadership.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving leadership and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, executive presence, and influence skills.
• Understanding of the intermediary business and aptitude and willingness to develop expertise.
• Exceptional prioritization and time management skills.
