What You Need To Know
• Understands the impacts of post-closing errors, repurchase, and audit trends on the organization and uses a network of internal and external resources to ensure corrections as necessary to product procedures and data checks that can be utilized to make the products more effective
• Stay up to date on underwriting, analytical and loan process knowledge.
• Communicate directly and effectively with operations staff, loan officers, other business units, and third-parties (investors, housing finance agencies, non-profit organizations or governmental entities).
• Review loan packages to determine compliance with investor or agency specific requirements and confirm all regulatory requirements are met. This process will require closing knowledge and analytical skills.
• Analyze and compare new product information to current product offerings and determine if the new products provide additional opportunities within our program portfolio.
• Periodic review of existing products to ensure the most current information is published internally.
What We Are Looking For
• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
• 5+ years of mortgage processing and/or closing experience preferred
• Must be familiar with all loan products (Conventional, FHA, VA, RD, Non-Agency etc.)
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals both inside and outside of the company
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Team player, ability to manage multiple assignments at once
