SUMMARY:
The Chief Commercial Credit Officer’s objective is to identify, quantify, and control the risk related to commercial credit within the company. Under the direction of the CRO, this position is responsible for the review of the organization’s commercial loan portfolio on a continuing basis in order to prevent or ameliorate commercial loan losses. The Chief Commercial Credit Officer is responsible for creating and managing processes for assessing, identifying, monitoring and preventing business risks related to credit.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of ten years’ experience of lending and managerial experience in credit related field and exposure to a sound risk management system
• Full knowledge of current banking regulations with regard to credit risk
• Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial banking, middle-market, commercial real estate, highly leveraged transactions, capital markets, and small business
• Demonstrate strategic planning skills and a strong record of developing and implementing credit and risk management strategies
• Strong leadership skills with significant managerial experience and the ability to build strong teams
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Possess sound judgment and have a unique ability to solve problems
• Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Oversee commercial credit-related activities and processes, including policies, management practices, adequate portfolio management, credit approvals, and management of special assets
• Ensure the company complies with all areas lending and credit analysis functions including adherence to policies and practices of the organization and applicable regulatory and governmental agencies
• Protect the company or organization from risks that could interfere with the company's objectives and goals and mitigate risk where it is unavoidable
• Implement plans to keep the company or organization in compliance with its internal risk appetite statement, and legal, regulatory and contractual obligations
• Actively manage commercial credit administration activity
• Perform annual performance reviews and an effective management plan consisting of goals for staff
• Other duties as assigned
